Description
1-hour ballet class with The Yorkville Nutcracker's Sugarplum Fairy, Abi Stafford. Kids from our Dances Patrelle family will get to meet and connect with other kids from around the world.
This ballet class will primarily be barre work, followed by one or two center combinations and stretching. Please make sure to have space around your chosen area to dance. A chair or countertop is recommended to use as a dance barre. Soft ballet slippers or socks are sufficient. The goal of this course is to polish our dance skills and to have fun!

About Dances Patrelle Online Classes:
Dances Patrelle is committed to providing affordable online arts programming to the community during COVID-19. We encourage students of all abilities and experience levels to exercise their creativity and stay connected to the arts community through our classes.
This ballet class will take place on Zoom Web Conferencing. Students must download the free Zoom app prior to class beginning. Dances Patrelle will email all students who are registered providing instructions on how to connect to the online class. Please test sound and video on your device prior to the class time, to ensure that equipment is working properly.
About Abi Stafford:
Born in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, Abi Stafford began her dance training at the age of six with the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet in Carlisle, under the direction of Marcia Dale Weary. Ms. Stafford entered the School of American Ballet (SAB), the official school of New York City Ballet, full time in the fall of 1998. At SAB, she performed the role of Clarinet in Jerome Robbins' Fanfare and a role in Christopher Wheeldon's Scènes de Ballet for the SAB's Annual Workshop performances. Ms. Stafford was invited to become an apprentice with New York City Ballet in November 1999 and joined the corps de ballet in January 2000. She was promoted to the rank of soloist in January 2002 and principal dancer in December 2007.
Ms. Stafford was named the Janice Levin Dancer for the 2000-2001 season. In the spring of 2003, Ms. Stafford was awarded the Martin E. Segal Award, which acknowledges the exemplary achievement of young artists.
