Dearest Friends,

What a night! It was a joy to join both the Dances Patrelle Board and all of you at our annual fall fundraiser gala Thursday evening at Gabriel's Bar & Restaurant. We celebrated our 25 years of The Yorkville Nutcracker as well as the premiere of a new dance film directed and choreographed by Ariel Rose, titled The Glass Year. The film featured concert violin soloist, Gregory Harrington and the dancers of the Miami City Ballet. The Glass Year is an angular and dynamic dance film bringing together dancers and musicians in the post-pandemic performance world...a world shattered yet unbroken.

For those of you who were not able to attend please treat yourself and watch the video here.

The Glass Year, Produced by Dances Patrelle. Choreographed & Directed by Ariel Rose. Featuring Concert Violin Soloist Gregory Harrington, and Dancers of the Miami City Ballet: Nina Fernandes, Taylor Naturkas, Jordan Martinez, Damian Zamorano. Filmed & Edited by Daniel Barrocas. Music: Phili Glass, Violin Concerto No.2, The American Four Seasons: Movement 3. Musicians: Colin Priller, Eva Casado Ariza, Sophia Shelton, Daniel Sanz Chiva. Lighting Designer: Travis Neff.

In less than two months, Dances Patrelle will be back on stage with the 25th Anniversary Production of The Yorkville Nutcracker.

I hope you will join me at the Kaye Playhouse December 11 and 12 for what is certain to be a magical, and cathartic, homecoming full of joy and beauty.

Thanks so much in advance for your continued support. We are in this together. And we will get through it together.

Dearest Friends,

We can’t thank you enough for joining Dances Patrelle’s first foray into film.  It was with enormous pride and joy that we were able to give you Ariel Rose‘s breathtaking look at 25 years of The Yorkville Nutcracker.  Now, Dances Patrelle is looking forward to our 25th Anniversary, live and on stage!

We also come to you with a plea.

Dances Patrelle spends about $5,000 each month. That money literally pays to keep the lights on. It pays for insurance and maintenance and rent – Nutcracker sleighs have to be kept somewhere, even in summer. In 2020, your generous contributions helped us reach our goal of $50,000, ensuring The Yorkville Nutcracker will be ready for the 2021 season!

But we aren’t just maintaining our past. We are also hard at work on a brand new work from the inestimable talents of Abi Stafford, Ask LaCour, Patrick Soluri, and Francis Patrelle. It’s going to speak to where we have been for the last year, with hope for where we are going!

We know that Dances Patrelle and The Yorkville Nutcracker are important to you. That’s why we are asking you to consider a contribution to Dances Patrelle. You can contribute via PayPal Giving Fund, Venmo @Classes-DancesPatrelle, or send a check to:
